Different technological advances have always boggled the minds of men. But one thing is for sure, technology has always been there to help us in our everyday situations. Just think of how you would get food to stay fresh without the refrigerator. Indeed, technology has given us the power to sustain our rapidly increasing needs in order to survive.

In the middle of the 20th century human kind was almost on the moon... so it was not so far a leap to imagine that by the year 2000 we would be holidaying on it! Computers had already made our lives easier by cracking codes during the second world war... in a far shorter time than a team of humans could. So we can see that some people believed that technology would make the lives of those in the 21 st century far easier... we would cars that hover, robot housekeepers and be spending less time working.

As a result of technology - consoles, internet and TV and with me letting him become this way he was obsessed, gripped, by gadgets and he had become 3 stone overweight. I was so devastated, how could I let this happen. I was messing up my son's future and health by giving in to his wants. At first I didn't know how to put it right but I realised that I had to discover a way.

The mind of man is a most incredible creation. It is always learning. The conscious mind is the part that makes judgments. The fortunate part about that is we can train our subconscious the way we want to!

People say and do things on a computer screen or cell phone that they would not do in person. This is another reason why we need to actually spend time with each other in face to face encounters. It keeps us honest and more authentic in what we say and do.

Since then I have few concerns with John now; he is losing weight slowly and really does get more fresh air and exercise. He plays with is tank inside and out, he is up and down, tweaking it and fixing it if it breaks, he takes it up to the park and over the wood. I am pleased he likes his tank so much and he is positively more active because of it - he still plays on his consoles and watches television but not nearly so much.
